Santa Rosa Beach Homes
The homes in Santa Rosa Beach are a mix of modern complexes and single family homes and older homes that have stood for decades. The newer condos, townhomes and detached homes are built to environmentally friendly specifications that minimize the home owner's 'footprint' and provide for greater efficiency at cooling and heating.
Santa Rosa Beach dates well past the 20th century, being first settled in the late 1800s. In ensuing years, it became known for turpentine production that was used in the war effort. For many years, the community remained a sleepy beach town, but in the mid-late 1900s, its potential as a superior vacation and retirement destination was recognized.
Today, there are many opportunities that Santa Rosa Beach provides to its residents. The cities of Destin and Panama City Beach are only a short drive away from Santa Rosa Beach homes. Sandestin is very close, with its golf, tennis, shopping and dining. Up and down Highway 30-A, there are many little communities and unique businesses that make for a pleasant day's outing.
Santa Rosa supports plenty of outdoor activities. In addition to beach sports, the fishing to be had in the area is famous for the quick access to deep water fishing and the many varieties of fish to be had for the catching. Golf is a popular pastime here and several golf clubs are available to Santa Rosa Beach home owners within a short drive. The 19-mile Timpoochee Trail winds along Scenic Highway 30-A and provides walkers, runners and cyclists with a beautiful ride along some of the most spectacular scenery that the Emerald Coast has to offer. Point Washington State Forest is available for hiking, cycling and hunting in season.
For the home seekers looking for a place to have a peaceful lifestyle with quick access to nightlife, shopping, dining and other pleasures, Santa Rosa Beach is well worth exploring.
