About Destin Florida
Destin is a quiet resort and fishing town located in the pristine Florida Panhandle. Destin began as small fishing village providing great access to deep sea fishing. The humble town was once, and probably still known as the 'World's Luckiest Fishing Village.' Destin has since grown and developed to become a tourist resort town, with fishing still as an important activity and industry, but taking full advantage of the expansive Florida coastline.
The 100 Fathom Curve draws closer to Destin than any other spot in Florida providing the quickest deep-water access on the Gulf. Mutiple beach access points present the spectacular dark emerald water and snow white sands famous to the Florida Panhandle. Destin and the Emerald Coast area have quickly grown into one of America's premier vacation destinations.
- USA Today voted Destin number one for beach destinations 5 years in a row.-
Activities and accommodations are abundant in Destin. Several world class chain and independent hotels operate throughout the area such as Anchors Resorts Realty, Destin Key Resorts, and the Chateau La Mer.
Small but first class restaurants provide fine dining and local cruise lines with SunQuest Cruises or Starlight Dinner Cruises offering an evening or weekend exploring the dark water of the Emerald Coast.
Many golf courses operate year round providing a broad range of challenges to all skill levels as well as a backdrop of breathtaking scenery. Other activities include deep sea fishing, scuba and deep sea diving, and dolphin cruises, spotting the many wild creatures in the calm harbors and open seas.
More than one hundred beach condos and vacation homes offer short and long term accomodations, equally as many for permanent residence. And that number is growing all the time.
Destin, Florida is a small but growing resort town, accessible to all, young and old. It is a quiet town that has carefully and proactively managed it's growth and heritage while maintaining the beautiful environment, the water, sand and sea.
